Kiss me quick...

...and talk to me slowly, we have been recovering today from a lovely but busy weekend by the sea in Southend-on-Sea in sunny gay Essex. Check out the mad amusements in 'Adventure Island' and take the retro train to the end of the 1.3 mile pier. It's up there in Edge and Barrett's top ten seaside towns, to find out our number one check out the next issue of Station (coming soon) in the mean time it's all about new publications and making magnets. Watch this space!

Cake me!

Here's hoping you all had a lovely Easter. Edge and Barrett took the opportunity to chill out, get some country air and devour piles of Easter eggs and weekend supplements. There is never a better time to do some serious magazine reading than a break with numerous family members, all with different reading habits, so we checked out the Mail and the Telegraph as well as our usual Saturday Guardian and a News International Sunday. Style magazine had a cake stand featured that reminded us of how Edge and Barrett started out, as a craft stall in Victoria Park Village. To make your own vintage look cake stand you need three plates (large, medium and small), two sherry glasses (or shot glasses) and some alderite glue. Start with the big plate, stick upside down sherry glass in the middle, then medium plate on top, second upside down sherry glass and little plate to finish. Done and done. Give them as a gift or decorate the home, just don't put cupcakes on them, according to Style magazine (they dedicated a double page spread) cakes of the cup variety have gone very bad, very bad indeed....
